Nicky gets a cool new girlfriend. She’s a medium and can also be an astral projection but that’s only when she’s getting choked out, preferably to the point where her boots actually leave the ground as she’s getting choked out. And preferably in a truck stop bathroom or hospital stairwell.
There are no typos in that paragraph.
Holy shit, this movie has only just started. This is how they started the movie.
They’re both white trash but Nic is also a widowed alcoholic truck driver and has a seemingly magic flask that is never empty. She’s just a stereotypical white trash German trucker girl that had a freak accident as a kid where she fell through the ice and saw through to the Other Side and is now goading every trucker she can find into choking her out so she can see into the future like she’s fucking Samuel Becket from Quantum Leap. So, typical cliche plot lines so far.
I bet Nicky fucks with his boots on. The first sex scene was so poorly edited it felt like satire.
Also, his girlfriend’s daughter races motorcycles. So don’t worry, it’s also a motorcycle movie. It hits so many white trash notes it’s almost incredible. Not that truck drivers and bikers are white trash, but these people are.
We discover that Nicky’s dead wife’s soul is trapped inside German babe’s daughter’s body. That couldn’t be more confusing. Meaning that he is now banging his babe’s daughter.
I think the movie hits fever pitch when Nic reads a memoir written by himself (actual actor’s name clearly visible on the book cover for an extended amount of time on screen) while banging his stepdaughter-specter-wife. In multiple rooms. Possibly over the course of several days.
The universe is complete. It was surreal and maybe it was some sort of tongue in cheek joke that went way over my head, but it put this movie pretty high up on my list.
I was so taken back by how ridiculous this movie was that I didn’t even get a favorite quote from it. It was sensory overload.
